GIMIEP - An Electronic Portal for Visually Impaired People

WHO ARE WE

The Azerbaijan Society of the Blind, now the Azerbaijan Society of the Visually Impaired (hereinafter referred to as Az.GAC), has been operating since 1931, was an influential organization for the disabled and played an important role in the socio-economic life of the country. Thus, the society currently has more than 25,000 visually impaired members. Az.GAC, 27 regional organizations, Braille Information Resource Center Limited Liability Company, Baku Educational Production Enterprise Limited Liability Company, has signed dozens of large-scale and successful projects for the social welfare of visually impaired people. has made great strides.

With the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Information Resource Centers were built in Nakhchivan AR, Ganja and Yevlakh within the project “Ensuring free access to ICT for the visually impaired” and “Rehabilitation for the Visually Impaired” in Zabrat settlement, Baku Center ”was built. President Ilham Aliyev personally attended the opening of these special enterprises.
